About

I took the long way — on purpose.

I studied electronics and communication engineering. Not data, not computer science. But I ended up working across infrastructure, admin, system integrators, and product companies — every layer, deliberately. I wanted to understand how these systems actually work end-to-end, not just where my piece of the puzzle fit.

That decision shaped everything. When I talk about context engineering for AI agents, or how the semantic layer connects to your governance model, or why MCP matters at the protocol level — I'm drawing on architectural thinking that comes from having seen the whole stack.

Today I work at Snowflake as a Senior Data Cloud Architect, advising Fortune 500s across financial services, technology, and healthcare. I'm building Data By Sam because I want other data engineers to see that this path — from technician to architect — is something you can learn. It's not luck. It's a set of skills, mental models, and decisions.
